PARK INFORMATION

Goosepond Mountain consists of 1,558 pristine acres, about six miles west of the New York State Thruway, in the town of Chester, Orange County, NY.

Goosepond Mountain State Park is a mixture of woods, fields, and wetlands. It is a haven for many native species, including many songbirds. The park was acquired with funds from the New York Bond Acts of 1960 and 1962, and remains true to its original purpose as recreation land.
