Minnewaska: Zero Waste Week Drop-In Workshop

  • Minnewaska State Park Preserve (map)

Come to the Minnewaska Nature Center on Labor Day to learn how to reduce your carbon footprint by eliminating trash, especially the huge amounts of waste generated from single-use plastics. Engage in fun activities for all ages to estimate your volume of trash per year, to understand the impact of landfills on our environment, and to see where changing your habits may make a big difference. We will provide you with resources to help you not only reduce the amount of trash you generate, but to even become waste-free, a challenging but rewarding endeavor. Finally, become educated on local legislative action in both Ulster County and New York State in waste reduction, and learn how you can make your voice heard on these issues. Pre-registration is NOT required, just drop in!
